Following April's article "Recapping 2025's First Quarter", it's time to look at what's happened since then with Talking Heads, David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Jerry Harrison.
Who Is The Sky?
On June 10, David Byrne announced his brand new album, Who Is The Sky?, which will be available on Matador Records on September 5. The album is a collaboration with Ghost Train Orchestra and features guest appearances such as St. Vincent and Hayley Williams.
See this previous article for more details about the album, first single, and tour.
Everybody Laughs
At the same time as the album announcement, Byrne released the album's first single, "Everybody Laughs", alongside a music video.
David Byrne World Tour
Also at the same time, David Byrne announced the tour dates for his first tour since 2018 (although his American Utopia residency on Broadway lasted until Spring 2022), which begins in September this year. The first leg features 50 dates across North America, ending in early December with shows in Florida. From the middle to the end of January 2026, the second leg covers New Zealand and 6 locations in Australia. A couple of weeks later, the tour continues across Europe with the third leg featuring 21 shows between February and March 2026, 10 of which are in the United Kingdom. It's likely that further 2026 shows, including festivals, will be announced closer to the time. Throughout all three legs of the tour, many locations also have multiple shows at the same venue, such as 4 at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

Amazing Humans Doing Amazing Things
On May 29, the second Amazing Humans Doing Amazing Things variety show took place at The Town Hall in Manhattan. The original was held by Byrne's non-profit organisation Reasons to be Cheerful in October 2024 at the same venue, with a similar format of miscellaneous performers spanning different art forms.
