David Byrne has been on tour for 2 weeks now, following the September 5 release of his album Who Is the Sky?. Click here for a list of tour dates and ticket information.

The tour began on September 16 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has included shows in Ohio, upstate New York, and Washington, D.C. The tour reached New York City last night, with a large Radio City Music Hall concert on September 30, and a second one tonight. Tomorrow, a set of three Boston shows begins, followed by shows in Rhode Island and Connecticut, before returning to NYC for two more shows at Radio City Music Hall on October 10 and 11. The American tour continues until December, then David Byrne will be performing in other continents in 2026.

For those who will be seeing it in the near future, this newsletter won't go into detail about the concerts, but attendees have highly praised them as an opportunity you won't want to miss! Here are some other recent updates about what Talking Heads members are up to:

  • While in D.C., David Byrne filmed a Tiny Desk Concert, which we can look forward to in the near future on NPR Music's YouTube channel.

  • Meanwhile, Jerry Harrison has been touring Stop Making Sense Q&As, with stops around America until January. See here for the full list of dates and ticket info.

  • Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth are also doing their own Stop Making Sense Q&A in New Hampshire! On October 12, the Conway Majestic Theatre will be hosting a screening of the concert film, followed by an interview and Q&A moderated by music historian John Howell. Tickets are available on the venue's website.

  • David Byrne's full track-by-track commentary video has been released, explaining the story behind each song on Who Is the Sky?.
  • The monthly David Byrne Radio playlists continue, with today's playlist titled "Heard Lately Again". You can listen to it on David's website, Spotify, Apple Music, and Mixcloud.

  • If you're interested in helping the Talking Heads Wiki project and improving the information on the website, we now have a Discord server that you can join to find out how to get involved.
