On October 10, the song "Open The Door" became available online as a single ahead of The Twits' release date on October 17. Used in the end credits of the film, the song was written and recorded by David Byrne with Hayley Williams of Paramore.

The soundtrack to the film also includes several three tracks written by Byrne, although they are performed by characters instead of Byrne himself. Two of the songs, "We're Not Like Ev'ryone Else" and "Lullaby", have previously been performed by David Byrne in May 2023, with him teasing that they're for an upcoming Roald Dahl adaptation. Another song, "The Problem Is You", remains unheard until the release of the film on October 17 through Netflix.

This collaboration between David Byrne and Hayley Williams comes very soon after their other duet, "What Is the Reason for It?", was released in early September on Byrne's album Who Is the Sky?. The crossover between these two artists has also included David Byrne covering "Hard Times" and Paramore covering "Burning Down the House". After the new release of "Open the Door", Williams shared photos from the recording sessions that took place in late 2024.
